New Year Statement Aikido Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba(2015/3/10written)

Aikido Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba
A Happy New Year.
Last year many things happened in both public and private, and I felt my feelings were also running around. In addition, there were heavy rains caused by the 11th and 12th typhoons, which led to floods and landslides, and the sudden eruption of Ontake volcano involving a lot of climbers. I felt the fury of nature that cannot be resolved by human power. I keenly feel very happy that I was able to celebrate a New Year saying gA Happy New Yearh with Aikido practitioners during the end of the year, through New Year Keiko at midnight December 31st, 2014.
Aikikai Foundation was able to finish all the major events successfully last year. We wish for further growth this year too.
A lot of annual Hombu Instructor Tours (HIT), Memorial Seminars, Summer Camps and demonstrations were held overseas. Seminars and HIT were held 94 times and total 109 instructors were dispatched just from Hombu. In spite of seminars being held in many countries, Armenia, Belarus, in Eastern Europe and Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan in Central Asia, many participants attended from not only the host countries but also from a broad range countries and areas because of the information network. I feel the enhancement and spread of the footstep of Aikido. Currently, a map which shows the countries and cities where Hombu instructors were dispatched is being run in the Aikido newspaper. It is proof that Aikido has spread out all over the world.
Today Aikido skills and philosophy indicated by the Founder@Morihei Ueshiba are understood in 130 countries and areas, at home and overseas. Many enthusiasts are practicing hard, since the total was 95 countries and areas in the previous figures, today an additional 35 countries have joined the circle.
Aikido has become established in 130 countries and areas around the globe. The more we spread, the more we have to make the main axis more solid and keep the foundation of the way. It is the most important thing for us to inherit the spirit and techniques of Aikido correctly. I wish that you cherish continuous training of body and soul while faithfully valuing the basics.
The larger the organization, the more it is necessary to manage the entire organization from a variety of angles in parallel with seeking the way of Aikido.
Right after World War II, Aikido opened its doors to the public at Hombu Dojo which survived the war. Sixty years has passed since my mother worked as a receptionist at Hombu Dojo carrying me on her shoulder, and the big circle of Aikido is now spread to 130 countries and areas. Aikido itself doesnft change even after many years have passed but it becomes necessary to manage various records in an organization as the years go by. I feel a keen responsibility that, as the organization which protects, inherit and transmit the way of Aikido, it is necessary to manage the enormous quantities of documents, historical records and the saving of memberfs data, even though it may not seem like an exciting material. I believe that I have to manage the history of the way of Aikido correctly as an organization called gAikikai Foundationh. Of course, for my own part as Doshu, I will seek the way, cherishing the five senses of human nature, including to see and hear from others.
2015, it is the year of the sheep, it is said that gthe sheep living in groups represent the peace of the family and also have the meaning of living in peace forever.h I hope the Aikido family also firmly nests in the center and walks forward together calmly, carefully and steadily with everybody.
